TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

KINGS (21-14-1-0)

The Kings battled back multiple times Friday night in Steinbach to grab one of their gutsiest wins of the season over the Pistons. Now they face another East Division team that has been rolling. Dauphin enters the game first in the West Division, one point up on Virden. The Oil Capitals, however, have four games in hand. They're in Winnipeg to play the Blues tonight.

It's Dauphin's third game in a four game road swing. It'll conclude in Waywayseecappo on Tuesday before the club returns to Credit Union Place for Ukrainian Night on Saturday next weekend.

Dauphin's Special Teams were mixed on Friday. Their Power Play went 3 for 9 but their Penalty Kill struggled, going 2 for 4. The come into tonight's game sixth in the league on the Power Play at 23.3% and their Penalty Kill is down to 78.2% which is eighth.

With a goal last night Nicholas Zaharias (10G, 25A) continues to lead Dauphin in scoring with 35 points.

FLYERS (20-13-1-2)

Winners of six straight the Winkler Flyers are nine points clear of the Selkirk Steelers who sit outside the MJHL's playoff picture coming into this evening's affair.

Winkler's concern is likely not the Steelers anymore, but catching the teams in front of them. As they enter tonight Winkler is eight back of Portage and 12 behind Steinbach. Like the Wolverines in the West, Winkler likely won't miss the playoffs, but are going to have a hard time moving up unless they string together a significant win streak.

Special Teams for the Flyers are both inside the MJHL's top five. Their Penalty Kill ranks third at 84.9% while their Power Play is fifth at 24%.

Niklas Gudmundson (21G, 30A) is first on the Flyers in points with 51. That total has him third in the MJHL.
