TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

KINGS (23-20-1-0) - 3rd in West

After yesterday's loss the Kings now find themselves just one point up on the Waywayseecappo Wolverines for third place in the West Division. Dauphin does have a game in hand on the Wolverines. The Kings are tied with Neepawa for second in the division, but have played on more game than the Titans.

After this evening's affair agains the Monarchs the Kings are back in Dauphin Tuesday when they host the Northern Manitoba Blizzard. The schedule favours the Kings over the next seven days as they will face teams well below them in the standings, but as seen earlier this week, points aren't always a guarantee.

Special Teams will look to be better in Winnipeg tonight. Dauphin gave up three man advantage goals in Virden Friday night. Currently the Kings are 9th on the Power Play at 19.7% and 9th on the Penalty Kill at 78.7%.

Nicholas Zaharias is alone atop the Kings scoring with 10 goals and 26 assists for 36 points.

MONARCHS (8-34-2-0) - 7th in East

The Winnipeg Monarchs were mathematically eliminated from the MJHL Playoffs awhile ago, but the team has played not bad as of late. Last night they came up short to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines, losing 3-1.

Winnipeg will conclude a four game home stand tonight against the Kings, they're looking for their first win of the stretch and have been outscored 15-6 so far. After this game the Monarchs go out on a three game road swing which will conclude on Valentines Day in Swan River.

Special Teams are not good for the Monarchs. Their Penalty Kill is worst in the league at 67.3% and their Power Play sits second to last at 12.6%.

With 23 points Cam Alt leads the Monarchs in scoring with eight goals and 15 assists.
