Kings Head South For Three Games In Three Nights

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings continue one of their two season high road swings tonight when they visit the Steelers in Selkirk to open up a three game in three night stretch.

Dauphin is coming off their third straight win on Tuesday when they took down the Waywayseecappo Wolverines 5-4. The Steelers, meanwhile, were embarrassed on the road with a 9-0 loss to the Winkler Flyers. So you know Selkirk will be looking to right the ship tonight on home ice.

Opening face off tonight is slated for 7:30pm!

TONIGHT'S MATCH UP

KINGS (7-2-0-0)

Dauphin will look to improve their road record tonight when they continue this season high road swing. The Kings have yet to lose away from Credit Union Place, but if there is a time that record will be significantly tested, tonight is one of those nights.

The Kings will continue the swing tomorrow in Winnipeg against the Freeze before closing it out against the Flyers in Winkler on Sunday. The next time Dauphin will play four straight on the road will be in late February.

Special Teams for the Kings bumped up a little after Tuesday's win in Wayway. They're now at 25.7% on the Power Play (5th) and 85.3% on the Penalty Kill (4th).

Cayden Glover (9G, 2A) and Naaman Hofer (1G, 10A) are tied for the Kings lead in points coming into the weekend. They're both at 11.

STEELERS (10-2-0-0)

A strong start to the 2024-25 season has the Selkirk Steelers in a good position to make a return to the post season. Yes there is still a lot of hockey left to be played, but a start like the one Selkirk has had will go a long way to punching a playoff ticket.

Selkirk's league high 10 wins have come against the Winnipeg Blues (4), Winnipeg Freeze (2), Waywayseecappo (1), Virden (1),  Portage (1), & Niverville (1).

Selkirk's Special Teams are both solid. Their Penalty Kill  is at 86% (3rd) while their Power Play sits at 23.9% (6th).

Selkirk has three players inside the top five in league scoring. The top scorer in the MJHL is a Steeler. Luke McCarthy has six goals and 12 assists for 18 points on the year. He's played 11 games.
