TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

KINGS (9-2-1-0)

It's the start of a four game road swing for the Dauphin Kings tonight. They'll play in NorMan, Steinbach, Niverville and Portage during the two week long stretch. Dauphin's road record has been solid so far considering how many games the club has played away from home. So far they are 4-2-0 away from Credit Union Place.

This is the final game of October for the Kings. Their record so far is a very good 6-1-1-0 as we head closer to the winter season. Dauphin's quiet nine game schedule in October will see an uptick in November as the team plays 11 contests with just four of them on home ice.

Coming into this week the Kings Penalty Kill continues to improve. After the weekend it's now ranked 5th in the MJHL at 86.5%. Power Play wise the Kings are 6th at 23.1%.

Havryil Simchuk (7G, 4A) and Madden Murray (4G, 7A) both lead the Kings in scoring coming into tonight. They each have 11 points.

BLIZZARD (3-6-1-0)

Despite the dismal start to the regular season the Northern Manitoba Blizzard have seemed to have found their footing on home ice. The club is still tied for last in the MJHL's West Division, but they have won their last three games on home ice, beating Wayway twice and Virden over the weekend. If it wasn't for the Kings on Tuesday last week the Blizzard would currently be on a three game winning streak.

Figuring themselves out on home ice is important for the Blizzard right now because their first half of the season is very home heavy. Between now and the Christmas break they play 12 more games in The Pas. After January 17th they have just six contests on home ice.

Special Teams have also slightly improved for the Blizzard. Their Power Play is now 12th in the league at 12.8% while their Penalty Kill is 3rd at 86.8%.

Justin Whitrow has five goals and two assists to lead the Blizzard with seven points.
