Screenshot Kings Grab Important Points In Win Over Neepawa
DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings earned two key points in a 3-1 victory over the visiting Neepawa Titans Saturday night at Credit Union Place.
Dauphin started well with Wyatt Dyck notching his 10th of the season just over two minutes into the game. The goal saw an assist go to D-man Aidan Malone, who was playing in his first game with Dauphin. The Kings would out shoot Neepawa 13-11 in the opening 20 minutes.
In the second Dauphin continued to play well and continued to out shoot the Titans but it was Neepawa who picked up the lone goal of the frame, making it 1-1 heading to the final period.
The third had Dauphin win the early battles and Kale Pratte was eventually rewarded with his 9th of the campaign. From there Hunter Bauer would stand tall and Daniel Helary (15) would add an empty netter to get the Kings the 3-1 victory.
Special Teams were quiet. Dauphin had just one Power Play and didn't score. Neepawa had two and failed as well.
Shots finished with the Kings ahead 38-31. Hunter Bauer grabbed the win between the pipes for Dauphin.
The Kings are now 23-17-1-0 and two points clear of Neepawa for second in the West Division. They are also the winners of the season series between the two teams with wins in four out of five meetings. This could be meaningful later on if the two teams end up tied in points at the end of the season.
No time for rest for the Kings, they're back on home ice Sunday when they welcome the Niverville Nighthawks in a rematch of last week's Ukrainian Night. Game time is 4:00pm at Credit Union Place! It's sponsored by MGEU!
