Kings Go To Winnipeg To Play Blues

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings will go for their third straight win tonight when they try again to head south, but this time their opponent is the Winnipeg Blues.

The Blues have not folded up their tent when it comes to the 2024-25 season. They've got points in three of their last four games coming into tonight. Dauphin, meanwhile, have won three of four to start the new year and will see Head Coach & GM Doug Hedley return to the bench tonight after serving a suspension.

In case you missed it the game between Dauphin and the Flyers in Winkler yesterday was postponed to another date due to road closures and poor travel conditions.

After this evening the Kings will be in Swan River on Tuesday before returning to Dauphin on Saturday for Ukrainian Night against the Virden Oil Capitals.

Game time tonight is 7:30pm!

Be sure to follow the Kings on social media throughout tonight's tilt for updates!

TONIGHT'S MATCH UP

KINGS (24-9-1-0) - 1st in West

With three postponements in the last month the Kings' schedule is slated to get very busy over the final stretch. Likely a good thing as the team looks towards the post season.

The Kings will try and improve on their solid road record which coming into tonight is 11-5-0-0. After a road heavy stretch to close out January Dauphin will spend lots of time at Credit Union Place in February.

Special Teams continue to be a little turbulent for the Kings as they come into Winnipeg. On the Power Play side they're at 25.7% while their Penalty Kill has dipped again after giving up a goal on three chances to Swan Valley on Tuesday. Right now it's at 81.5%.

Cayden Glover is rolling with five goals and three assists in his last four games. He leads the team in scoring coming into tonight with 45 points (28G, 17A).

BLUES (7-23-2-2) - 6th In East

The Winnipeg Blues are coming off a 3-2 overtime loss to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines on Thursday. The Blues are pretty much mathematically eliminated from the MJHL's post season but they will look to the role of spoiler in the coming months.

Special Teams are not good for the Blues as they enter tonight's affair with the Kings. Their Power Play (10.6%) is second worst in the league while their Penalty Kill is fourth worst at 77%.

Forward Adam Matar leads the Blues in scoring coming into this evening's game. He has 5 goals and 20 assists for 25 points.
