Kings Go To Portage To Play Terriers

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings and Terriers will me in Portage for the first time this season tonight.

Dauphin is coming off a very disappointing 4-2 loss to the Wolverines in Waywayseecappo on Thursday. A game where they were clearly outworked and gave up a 4-0 lead before scoring two times late to make things appear a bit closer than they actually were.

It's the final game of the week for Dauphin. They won't play again until next Friday when they kick off a home-and-home set with the Virden Oil Capitals.

Puck drop tonight is 7:30pm!

Be sure to follow the Kings on social media throughout today's tilt for updates!

TONIGHT'S MATCH UP

KINGS (15-6-1-0)

The Kings will look for a much better effort in tonight's tilt against the Terriers. Their loss Thursday in Waywayseecappo was another one of those games where the team could look back at the end of the season and say if they had two more points they may have finished elsewhere in the standings.

This is the second meeting of the season between Dauphin and Portage. The Terriers won a their only meeting so far back in early October at Credit Union Place where they edged the Kings 3-2. In their last five games the Kings are 3-2-0-0.

Special Teams weren't a major factor in Thursday's loss. Dauphin's Power Play is now 3rd in the MJHL at 26.3% while their Penalty Kill has moved to 85.5% which is 2nd.

Cayden Glover (17G, 9A) remains atop the Kings in points with 26.

TERRIERS (16-7-0-0)

The Portage Terriers should be just as sour as the Dauphin Kings coming into tonight's affair. Portage is coming off a disappointing 6-2 loss in Niverville on Wednesday and like Dauphin they did not play Friday.

Portage has been hot and cold this season but like the Kings as of late they've cooled off, losing two of their last three. The Terriers' home record this season is strong. They're 10-2-0-0 while the Kings are 7-3-0-0 on the road.

Portage's Special Teams will be something the club is trying to improve on. They're on the bottom side of the league on both the man advantage (18.3% - 9th) and penalty kill (82.1% - 7th).

Cameron Bullinger leads both the MJHL and Portage Terriers in points with 11 goals and 21 assists for 32.
