TONIGHT'S MATCHUP
KINGS (10-3-1-0)
The Kings are coming off that disappointing 8-6 loss to the Steinbach Pistons last night in a game where they had the lead multiple times but couldn't close it out. It was a weird back and forth affair to kick off the month of November.
This is the third road game out of four straight on the road for the Kings. They'll close out the stretch Friday in Portage against the Terriers. Coming into this game Dauphin remains first in the West Division but now just three points ahead of the Virden Oil Capitals, and even in games.
Dauphin's Special Teams took a little bit of a hit last night in Steinbach. Their Power Play was 1 for 3 but their Penalty Kill was 3 for 5. They're now 6th in the league on the PP (22%) and 4th on the PK (85.4%).
Havryil Simchuk (7G, 9A) is now alone atop Kings scoring with 16 points.
NIGHTHAWKS (13-1-0-0)
Since the Dauphin Kings beat the Niverville Nighthawks back in October the southern Manitoba club has not lost a game. They've won seven straight coming into tonight including a 6-2 decision over the West Division's worst team the Northern Manitoba Blizzard.
This is game two of a six game home stand for the Nighthawks. They've actually played quite a few games on home ice already this season with nine out of their first fourteen being at the CRRC.
The Nighthawks' Special Teams are both inside the league's top five. Their Penalty Kill is the best in the league at 91.5% while their Power Play is 5th at 23.9%.
Hayden Wheddon (9G, 10A) is the top scorer for Niverville with 19 points.
