Kings Get Back On Track, Beat Blizzard 5-2

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings scored the first four goals and didn't look back in a 5-2 win over the visiting Northern Manitoba Blizzard Tuesday night at Credit Union Place.

Aiden Murray (2) opened up the scoring in what was mostly a pretty quiet opening period.

The Kings would do most of their damage in the middle frame, getting goals from Ty Pratte (1) and Havryil Simchuk (6) to extend their lead to 3-0.

In the third Nicolas Zaharias (3) would put the Kings up 4-0 before things got a little turbulent. The Blizzard would score a quick two goals in less than two minutes to make things interesting, but Dauphin would hold them off. Daniel Helary (5) would add an empty netter in the final minute to seal the deal.

Justin Perreault won his third consecutive start stopping 23 of 25 shots while his team pushed 28 on the Blizzard goal.

There were just three power plays on Tuesday. Dauphin went 1 for 2 while Northern Manitoba was 1 for 1.

The Kings, now 8-2-0-0 and still undefeated at Credit Union Place (4-0), return to play on Saturday when they continue this week long three game home stand. They'll get a good test when the Selkirk Steelers come to town on Saturday. Selkirk currently sits atop the MJHL's East Division. Game time Saturday at Credit Union Place is 7:00pm!
