DAUPHIN, MB - A couple tough stretches cost the Dauphin Kings in a 7-3 loss to the Steinbach Pistons on Friday night.
It was a game that saw the Kings have some ups and a lot of downs. An up was how the team started, scoring just 2:27 seconds into the contest. However, less than 30 seconds later the Pistons responded and would eventually go up 3-1 in the first period. The Kings would get one back before things would close out in the first 20 minutes. McCullough Park had both goals for the Kings in the opening frame.
In the second period the Kings would tie it up when Brendan Arnold scored from the slot, but once again the Pistons were quick two respond and put up four unanswered before the period was over including two goals in the final minute.
The third period saw no scoring from either side with the play being mostly even. The Pistons out shot the Kings on Friday 25-17 while both teams could not score on the man advantage. Dauphin went 0 for 5 while Steinbach was 0 for 3.
The Kings now get a day off before they head back out on the road to face the Waywayseecappo Wolverines on Sunday (4:00pm). The game marks the start of four straight on the road for the Kings which will conclude next Saturday in Selkirk.
The Kings next home game takes place Tuesday October 17th against the Swan Valley Stampeders!
