Kings Fall Behind 2-0 In Series

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings struggled to generate offence and are now behind 2-0 in their first round series following a 4-1 loss to Waywayseecappo Sunday night.

The Kings out shot Waywayseecappo 6-1 in the opening minutes of the contest, but fell behind six minutes in. Dauphin would stick with it and Ethan Stewart (2) would score on a late Dauphin man advantage, making it 1-1 after 20.

In the second the Kings struggled to get anything going while Waywayseecappo tallied two goals to go ahead 3-1 after 40. Through two period the Wolverines led the game in shots, 22-18.

The third period saw more of the same for Dauphin as the Wolverines would add one more to make it a 4-1 final. Things got chippy late as tempers boiled over.

Shots finished at 28-25 for Waywayseecappo while Power Plays had both teams going 1 for 6. Hunter Bauer took the loss in goal for the Kings.

The Kings will try to cut the series lead in half when the Wolverines come to town for game three on Tuesday. Opening face off at Credit Union Place is 7:00pm!
