Kings Fall 5-2 To Blues

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings gave up the game's first four goals and couldn't recover in a 5-2 loss to the Winnipeg Blues Saturday night at Credit Union Place.

The Blues scored two in the first and two in the second to go up 4-0 after 40. The Kings did have chanced but just couldn't find the back of the net.

In the third period Dauphin scored just 22 seconds in when Havryil Simchuk (15) notched a goal on the power play. The marker was followed up by Brody Wytinck's third of the season at the mid point of the period. Unfortunately the comeback would fall short with the Blues scoring an empty netter late.

Dauphin out shot Winnipeg 48-25 with Justin Perreault (Starter) and Bryson Yaschyshyn taking the loss.

Dauphin ended the night 1 for 3 on the Power Play and 1 for 1 on the Penalty Kill.

The loss slips the Kings to 16-9-1-0 on the season and 1-3-0-0 on their current seven game home stand. They'll continue it on Tuesday when they welcome the Northern Manitoba Blizzard to town. The game will be sponsored by McMunn & Yates and puck drop is slated for 7:00pm!
