Kings Effort Falls Short In Steinbach

STEINBACH, MB – For the second straight night the Dauphin Kings couldn’t find the back of the net in a 3-0 loss, this time to the Steinbach Pistons.

The Kings played another great game in Steinbach, sticking with the MJHL’s top team until the late stages of the final period. However, like it’s been for the last couple games, the Kings couldn’t score.

Dauphin had some high quality chances and pressure in the first two periods, but a penalty heavy affair hindered the flow of the game. The Kings had six man advantage opportunities while the Pistons had nine. Both teams combined for 54 minutes of infractions.

Brandon Holtby stood tall in net for the Kings and was very good positionally with excellent rebound control. Holtby stopped 43 of 46 shots he faced while the Kings fired 31 on the Steinbach net.

Dauphin will look to regroup for their final game in this three game in three night stretch when they visit the Terriers in Portage on Sunday. Note the early start time, a 6:30pm puck drop.
