Kings Drop Pre Season Opener
DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings had a great start but couldn't finish the job in a 5-3 loss to the SJHL's Yorkton Terriers Saturday night at Credit Union Place.
In the first period the Kings were mostly in control, getting goals from Landyn Garton (1) and Pavel Barclay (1). Yorkton would score in the dying seconds of the frame to make it 2-1.
The second saw the Kings fall back on their heels. Yorkton would score three to make it a 4-2 game. The Terriers out shot Dauphin 24-3 in the middle frame.
In the third Yorkton continued their strong play and made it a 5-2 game before Shea Chornley (1) tallied for Dauphin to make it 5-3. That would be the final score.
Power plays were heavily in favour of the Terriers. They went 3 for 9 while Dauphin was 1 for 3.
Shots were 69-11 for Yorkton.
