Kings Double Up OCN

THE PAS, MB - A slow start didn't hinder the Dauphin Kings Tuesday night in a 6-3 victory over the Blizzard in OCN.

Dauphin fell behind in the first five minutes of the contest, but bounced back strong, scoring the next two in the opening period from Avery Smith (3) and Riley Buller (4).

In the second period the Kings fell behind early again. OCN's two quick goals in the first three minutes put the Blizzard ahead 3-2, but once again Dauphin responded with the next three goals. Scoring for the Kings were Jacob Evans (3), Riley Buller (5) and former Blizzard George King (4). That gave Dauphin a 5-3 lead going to the final frame.

Dauphin would add a marker late in the third period to ice the affair. Andrew Liwiski notched his first since being acquired by the club earlier this month.

Brennan Kitchen took the win in net, stopping 23 of 26 shots while his team fired 41 on the OCN goal. Both teams tallied on the man advantage Tuesday.

Next up for the Kings is a date with the Wayway Wolverines, a double-header. The set opens Friday in Wayway before coming to Dauphin on Saturday. Puck drops both nights are 7:30pm.

The Kings are now 7-5-0 on the campaign.
