Kings Double Swan

DAUPHIN, MB – The Dauphin Kings kicked off their exhibition campaign the right way Monday night, beating the Swan Valley Stampeders 4-2 on home ice.

Riese Gaber got the local fans fired up, scoring just 31 seconds in. After that the Kings didn’t look back and never surrendered the lead. Other scorers for Dauphin Monday night were Matthew Bartel, Kyle Oleksiuk and hometown kid Mark Liwiski.

Tanner Douglas and Conor Klaers split the contest between the pipes. Douglas was excellent, turning aside 14 of 15 shots while Klaers made four saves on five shots.

It’ll be a quick turnaround for both clubs as they’re scheduled to meet Tuesday night in Swan River. Follow the game on Twitter (@DauphinKings) or check back here in the evening for the final score and more!
