Kings Continue Pre Season Success At Home

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings continue to roll inside Credit Union Place following a 4-1 victory over the Virden Oil Capitals Saturday night.

Despite getting into penalty trouble throughout the night the Kings were able to battle through and secure the pre season decision.

The much more experience lineup for the Kings saw four different scorers on the evening. George King opened things up for Dauphin (RIGHT) in the first five minutes of the first period when his slipped one between the Virden netminder and the post. The Oil Capitals would even things up before the end of the opening 20 minutes on the man advantage.

In the second Dauphin would regain the lead with D-man Riley Shamray going post and in just past the midway point of the frame.

The third period saw the Kings on their heels a couple times, but the group battled through the adversity with Riley Buller and Bryon Fobair (EN) scoring in the late stages of the third.

Brennan Kitchen and Brody Palmer shared the evening in goal for the Kings. Kitchen turned aside 20 of 21 shots while Palmer didn't allow any goals on 13 shots. Dauphin had 41 shots on the Virden net.

The Kings will get one day off before returning to action on Monday when they visit the Wolverines in Waywayseecappo. Game time is 7:30pm on Monday. Dauphin is now 2-1-0 in the MJHL pre season.
