Kings Conclude Weekend Swing In Winkler

DAUPHIN, MB - Following two straight losses the Dauphin Kings will hunt for two points tonight when they wrap up their road swing in Winkler against the Flyers.

Dauphin is coming off two disappointing losses so far this weekend. A 5-3 decision to Selkirk on Friday and a 3-1 outcome to the Freeze last night, Winnipeg's first win of the season.

The Kings lost 2-0 to Winkler inside Credit Union Place back at the start of the month in a game that saw the club play quite flat for the first time in 2024-25.

The Flyers, like the Freeze last night, have had a few days off and have been sitting and waiting for the Kings since Thursday.

Opening face off tonight is slated for 7:30pm!

Be sure to follow the Kings on social media throughout today's tilt for updates!

TONIGHT'S MATCH UP

KINGS (7-4-0-0)

Last time the Dauphin Kings lost two in a row they responded with a very strong effort in a 9-4 win over the Winnipeg Freeze at Credit Union Place. They'll look to avoid dropping three straight for the first time this season.

After tonight's tilt the Kings will return to Credit Union Place to play the Winnipeg Blues on Friday and the Winkler Flyers on Sunday before heading back out on the highway.

A disappointing Saturday night on the Special Teams side for the Kings. They went 0 for 6 on the Power Play and now sit at 22.2% (6th) while their Penalty Kill only went out once and was successful against the Freeze. It's now at 86.5% and 3rd in the MJHL.

Cayden Glover (11G, 2A) scored again last night. He's riding a six game goal scoring streak coming into tonight and leads his team in points with 13.

FLYERS (7-2-0-0)

As mentioned the Winkler Flyers have been sitting and waiting for the Kings since Thursday when they beat the Oil Capitals in Virden.

After tonight's game though the tables will turn as Dauphin will be on the back end of a 3-in-3 next weekend for the Flyers as they visit Swan Valley for two nights before coming to Credit Union Place.

The Flyers' Special Teams are strong. Their Power Play is tops in the MJHL at 39.4% while their Penalty Kill is 6th at 81.6%.

Will Brophy (2G, 9A) is the leader in points on the Flyers with 11.
