Kings Conclude 2024 In Norman

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings will try to go into the Christmas break on a high tonight when they visit the Northern Manitoba Blizzard for the final time this season.

It's the third meeting in two weeks between the two teams who were picked to be in the mix for the top spot in the MJHL's West Division.

The Kings have not played since last week when they faced the Blizzard. Norman, meanwhile, has not seen action since Sunday when they picked up a 6-3 victory over the Virden Oil Capitals.

It is the final game before the Christmas break for the Kings. They will not return to game action until Saturday January 4th when they entertain the Winnipeg Blues at Credit Union Place.

Be sure to follow the Kings on social media throughout tonight's tilt for updates!

TONIGHT'S MATCH UP

KINGS (21-7-1-0)

A well rested Dauphin Kings team should be ready to go tonight. The club has not played since Wednesday and will look to empty the tank before getting the next 16 days off from game action.

Dauphin will enter the break atop the MJHL's West Division. The question tonight is will they be able to expand their lead before their time off. The Kings are 3-1-0-0 in the month of December so far.

Dauphin's Special Teams have struggled a bit as of late and that has seen them drop in the overall standings. Right now they're 4th in the league on the Power Play at 25.8% while their Penalty Kill is 6th at 82.9%.

Cayden Glover (23G, 13A) and Naaman Hofer (4G, 32A) lead Dauphin in points coming into this evening with 36.

BLIZZARD (18-13-0-1)

The Norman Blizzard schedule is much different than the Dauphin Kings' schedule this week. They are very busy with three games on their menu starting tonight when they host the Kings. Then the Blizzard will go south for a double header with the Neepawa Titans on Friday and Saturday. Their first game back from the break will be in Dauphin against the Kings on Sunday January 5th.

Entering tonight the Blizzard are second in the West Division but Neepawa is on their heels and those two games later this week are massive for both teams. Right now Norman is one point up, but the Titans have a game in hand.

Special Teams have the Blizzard 5th in the MJHL on the Power Play at 23.1% while their Penalty Kill is 10th at 74.8%.

Miguel Bouvier (18G, 20A) leads Norman in points coming into this evening with 38.
