Kings Clip Blues For Hedley’s 400th Win Behind Dauphin Bench

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings fell behind a couple times but battled back for their second straight win, a 4-3 victory over the Winnipeg Blues Friday night at Credit Union Place.

The win is Dauphin Kings Head Coach Doug Hedley's 400th behind the club's bench (Credit to local legend Doug Zywina for the stat).

The opening period saw the Blues grab a 1-0 advantage. The period was a tale of two sides. The first half saw Dauphin control things for the most part while Winnipeg took over in the second half.

The second period saw the Kings even things up when Daniel Helary (2) scored on the man advantage from Ashton Paul & Ty Pratte. Then Gavin Nemis (3) gave the Kings the leads before the Blues made it even going into the third.

With the score 2-2 to start the final frame Winnipeg grabbed a 3-2 advantage before Dauphin woke up and got goals from Matthew Thomas (4) and Ethan Williment (5) scored the game winner midway through the period. The Kings would hold on for their 9th win of the season.

Cole Sheffield was solid in goal for the Kings stopping 20 of the 23 shots he faced while his team pushed 58 shots on the Winnipeg net.

Dauphin's Power Play ended the night 2 for 7 while their Penalty Kill went 4 for 5.

The Kings, now 9-4-0-0, will close out their quick weekend home stand on Sunday afternoon when they host the Winkler Flyers. Game time is 4:00pm at Credit Union Place!
