Kings Bounce Back With 4-1 Win Over Selkirk

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings bounced back strong and took down the Selkirk Steelers 4-1 Sunday afternoon at Credit Union Place.

The Kings got off to a hot start in the first period, scoring just 14 seconds into the affair. It was Madden Murray's 6th of the season.

The next goal didn't come until the late stages of the second period. After Dauphin had a slew of chances in the frame Josh Schmidt (2) just threw one on goal and it made its way home to give his team a 2-0 lead.

Selkirk made it close early in the second but some undisciplined penalties on the Steelers side gave the Kings momentum and they buried two more to make it a 4-1 final. Murray (7) notched his second of the game and Naaman Hofer (3) sealed it late on the man advantage.

Cole Sheffield was excellent in the win. He made saves when he needed to to keep his team ahead and eventually the rewarded him with more goals. He stopped 29 of 30 shots while his team fired 38 on the Selkirk goal.

Dauphin's Power Play didn't have a great night, but scored once in seven opportunities. Their Penalty Kill, however, was excellent stopping Selkirk four times.

The win is the Kings' 13th of the season and is their seventh straight game where they have gained at least a point. They remain first in the MJHL's West Division and will see their next action on Wednesday when they visit the Swan Valley Stampeders at 12:30pm!

Lest We Forget.
