DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings gave up the opening goal of the game but didn't look back after that, beating the Swan Valley Stampeders 5-1 at Credit Union Place Tuesday night.
Devun Olfert led the way for the Kings, scoring three goals while Jack Bechard and Joshua Schmidt tallied as well.
The Stampeders led only on the shot clock, outshooting the Kings 38-28 while Dauphin finished 1 for 5 on the man advantage and 3 for 3 on the penalty kill.
Austin Seibel & Victor Larin shared the win between the pipes for the Kings. Both made some important saves at key times in the contest.
The win puts Dauphin at 2-1-0-1 in the pre season while the Stampeders drop to 1-4-0-0.
The Kings have two games left in their pre season, Friday they visit the Stampeders in Swan River and then Saturday they close things out at home against the Virden Oil Capitals. Game time both nights is 7:30pm.
