TONIGHT'S MATCHUP
KINGS (29-22-2-0) - 2nd in West
The Kings start the day off in 2nd place in the MJHL's West Division. They're two points ahead of the Waywayseecappo Wolverines and even in games. Waywayseecappo is home to Niverville this evening. After tonight the two teams will face off in Wayway on Friday. Dauphin will then go to Virden on Saturday to battle the Oil Capitals before finishing off this four game road swing on Tuesday in The Pas against the Northern Manitoba Blizzard.
For the matchup this evening the Kings and Steelers face off for the final time this season. Selkirk has been out of the post season picture for a number of weeks now and look to play spoiler to any team they come across. The Kings have gone 2-0-1-0 against Selkirk this season.
Dauphin's Special Teams enter the game 6th in the MJHL at 23.3% on the Power Play and 9th in the league on the Penalty Kill at 78.5%.
Matthew O'Sullivan (23G, 22A) continues to lead Dauphin in scoring with 45 points.
STEELERS (19-29-2-1) - 5th in East
Even though the Selkirk Steelers have been out of the East Division playoff race for some time they have the potential to steal points and surprise teams, so the Kings will need to be on their toes if they want to collect two points on the road this evening.
Until yesterday afternoon Selkirk was in the midst of a 12 game losing streak with their last victory coming back on January 20th, but they were able to take down the Virden Oil Capitals 5-3 on home ice. Selkirk has won four games this calendar year, going 4-14-0-1 since 2025 expired.
Special Teams have followed the recent struggles of the Steelers. Their Power Play is ranked 8th at 21.3% while their Penalty Kill is 11th in the MJHL at 75.5%.
Wyatt Witham (18G, 31A) is atop the Steelers in scoring with 49 points.
