TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

KINGS (19-11-1-0)

The Kings will look to rebound after a disappointing start to 2026 on Sunday where they lost 4-3 to the visiting Neepawa Titans. Dauphin heavily out shot Neepawa in the game but couldn't find their scoring touch. With the loss they now find themselves just two points ahead of both Virden and Neepawa for top spot in the West Division. The good news is they have a game in hand on Neepawa. The bad news is they've played two more than Virden.

It's game one of a three game week for the Kings. After tonight they begin a difficult stretch in their schedule with games against teams that boast very strong records. It begins tomorrow in Portage. Then Dauphin hosts Steinbach on Friday before heading out on the road for four straight (Virden, Steinbach, Winkler & Wayway).

Dauphin's Penalty Kill struggled on Sunday giving up three goals on four opportunities. With those results their PK is now 7th in the MJHL at 78.3%. Their Power Play did not score on Sunday and is now 6th at 23.2%.

Nicholas Zaharias (9G, 23A) leads the Kings in points coming into tonight with 32.

WOLVERINES (12-18-1-1)

It's the Wolverines' first game back from the Christmas break tonight. It's also actually the third straight game that Wayway has faced the Kings. They have not played any other teams since December 14th.

Waywayseecappo is in the same spot they finished last year at the end of the regular season. They're fourth in the MJHL's West Division. They have some good space between themselves and the Swan Valley Stampeders for the final playoff spot (10 points). Barring a major collapse the Wolverines should have no problem returning to the MJHL's post season picture.

The Wolverines' Special Teams are both on the bottom half of the MJHL. Their Power Play is 8th at 22.1% while their Penalty Kill is 9th at 77.9%.

Sebastien Hicks (17G, 22A) is the scoring leader of the Wolverines entering tonight. He has 39 points.
