DAUPHIN, MB -  The Dauphin Kings capped off a strong weekend in the Winnipeg area Saturday night with a 6-4 win over the Steelers in Selkirk, their fifth straight.

The opening 20 minutes saw the Kings finally get a start they were looking for. They scored three times with the opening goal coming off Cayden Glover's stick (15) less than a minute into the contest. After that Dauphin got goals from Ashton Paul (5) and Madden Murray (4) on the man advantage. Selkirk would score late to make it 3-1 by the end of the first period.

In the second the Kings came out and got back up by three when Madden Murray (5) deflected home his second of the night. Then it was Gavin Nemis getting in on the action scoring his 4th of the year.

Dauphin took their 5-1 lead to the final frame where Selkirk came out and scored early to make it 5-2. Then the two teams would trade goals to make it 6-3. Rylan Gage (3) had Dauphin's tally.

Cole Sheffield played well for his 11th win. He stopped 43 of 47 shots he faced. Dauphin had 55 shots.

Dauphin's Power Play again was key to the team's victory. It went 2 for 3 and their Penalty Kill was 2 for 2.

Dauphin is now 12-4-0-0 and will play for first place overall in the MJHL on Friday when they welcome the Steinbach Pistons to town. Opening face off is 7:30pm, don't miss it!
