WAYWAYSEECAPPO, MB - The Dauphin Kings scored four times on the power play and erased a 3-1 deficit en route to a 5-4 overtime victory over the Waywayseecappo Wolverines Sunday night.

As the game went on the Kings got better. In the opening 20 minutes Dauphin looked flat, like a team that had been off for two weeks, and they found themselves behind 2-0 after 20.

In the middle frame Dauphin improved and Austin Lamotte (9) was rewarded after hard work on a Kings man advantage. After Wayway made it 3-1 Grady Hobbs (26) took his frustrations out on the puck to make it a 3-2 affair after 40.

The final period was the Kings' best of the night. Baron Thompson (18 & 19) would score twice on the power play to give the Kings a 4-3 lead late in the contest. Wayway would tie it up in the final minute to earn a point.

In overtime the Wayway defenders rolled out the red carpet in their own zone and let Austin Lamotte (10) walk in and score to lift the Kings to the win.

Matthias Smith was very good between the pipes, turning aside 31 of 35 shots while his team fired 33 on the Wayway net.

An excellent night on the Special Teams side for the Kings. They went 4 for 5 on the power play and 5 for 5 on the penalty kill.

The win improves Dauphin's record to 18-15-3-2 on the season but a Virden win over Portage keeps the Kings in 7th spot. Dauphin will host the Oil Capitals for their next game on TV Tuesday at Credit Union Place! Game time is 7:30pm.
