Kings Announce Partnership With CNUF

DAUPHIN, MB - On the eve of what would have been the start of the 55th Anniversary of Canada's National Ukrainian Festival the Dauphin Kings and CNUF are happy to announce a partnership going into the 2020-21 MJHL Season.

The Kings and CNUF have partnered to put on Ukrainan Night, November 21st at Credit Union Place when Dauphin hosts Swan Valley (7:30pm).

"We're obviously very happy to have this partnership in place" says Kings Director of Business Operations Christian Laughland. "Canada's National Ukrainian Festival is an important economic driver in the City of Dauphin and we're hoping we can help each other out when it comes to raising funds for both organizations. We'd also like to thank Ryan Rauliuk, a huge supporter of CNUF, for being a key piece in making this game what it is today."

When fans come into the arena in November they can expect another great atmosphere with lots going on. This time, all the proceeds in the rink that night will go to both the Dauphin Kings and Canada's National Ukrainian Festival.

"CNUF is very excited to be partnering with the Dauphin Kings for Ukrainian Night. It’s the best of both worlds, hockey and celebrating the Ukrainian Culture. We are looking forward to November’s game and offering some Ukrainian entertainment, music and vendors" says CNUF President Kayla Gillis. "What a better way to support our local hockey team and party Ukrainian style. We were very thrilled the Dauphin Kings have asked us to be part of such an important night for the City of Dauphin!"

The Kings will also bring back special Ukrainian jerseys for the night. "We're working with a local artist on designing this year's jersey and happy to keep things local from that perspective as well" says Laughland.

"The community of Dauphin is very lucky to be the home of both the Dauphin Kings and Canada's National Ukrainian Festival" noted Gillis. "Patrons have been supporting both groups for years and we have to make sure they continue. Both organizations add so much value to the community with bringing in patrons to take part in the hockey games and events the festival puts on. This helps support the community by hotels and restaurants being utilized, and they support retail locations as well as local attractions in the city. We want both organizations to keep going strong. CNUF and the Kings both volunteer at numerous events in the community too! Let’s keep supporting each other to keep Dauphin a star attraction of Manitoba!"

This weekend, beginning August 1st at 7:00pm, Canada's National Ukrainian Festival will host a Virtual Festival on Facebook! Follow the CNUF Facebook Page to enjoy all the entertainment!
