DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings have announced their Captains as they get set to kick off their 57th season in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
Ethan Williment will lead the Kings into their season opener Friday as the club's Captain while Rylan Gage, Cayden Glover and Naaman Hofer will be the Alternate Captains.
Williment is returning to Dauphin for his fourth season and recently spoke with the Manitoba Junior Hockey League about his team and how they're looking forward to a long and exciting season.
Rylan Gage, another King that has been in the system for a long time, returns to the team as a 19 year old and looking to take the next step following nine points (4G, 5A) in a 33 game rookie season.
Cayden Glover was an important piece to the success Dauphin had their first round playoff series with the Blizzard last year. In seven playoff games he had six points (2G, 4A). During the season he was almost clicking at a point per game pace (20G, 28A in 50GP).
On the back end Naaman Hofer returns to Dauphin after leading the Kings D-men in points last year. He had six goals and 39 assists for 45 points in 56 games. That point total had him third overall in the MJHL amongst Defencemen.
The Kings kick off their regular season Friday night in Virden against the Oil Capitals at 7:30pm. Of course you can watch that game on FloHockey or listen to the broadcast with Darnell Duff on 730 CKDM.
Saturday Dauphin returns to Credit Union Place to open up their home ice schedule against the same Oil Capitals. The evening will feature a tailgate party starting at 5:30pm. Fans can come out, enjoy some entertainment, road hockey with some Kings, beer gardens, bouncy castle and more! The Assiniboine College Home Opener goes down at 7:30pm with player introductions slated for roughly 7:20pm.
