Kings Announce Completed Trades

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings announced two completed trades from the 2018-19 season Saturday morning and added one more as off season trading opened across the CJHL.

The first deal saw the Kings send D-man Wayde Johannesson and future considerations in exchange for future considerations to the Selkirk Steelers. The future considerations returning to the Kings is forward Noah Basarab (99).

Basarab started the 2018-19 season in Swan Valley with the Stampeders. He was later moved to Selkirk. Last year the forward was inside the MJHL top 10 in both scoring and goals. He had 28 goals and 27 assists for 55 points in the campaign. In the first round of the post season Basarab added two goals and two assists in six contests.

The second transaction was made in October when the Kings sent Ste.Rose forward Reece Hopfner (00) to the Fort Francis Lakers in exchange for future considerations. Hopfner's rights now return to Dauphin for 2019-20.

Finally, the Kings made one move to open up the summer. They sent D-man Jared Twerdoclib to the Neepawa Natives in exchange for Dauphinite Garrett Hrechka (02). Hrechka spent last season with the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League's Parkland Rangers. The forward notched 16 goals and nine assists for 25 points in 42 contests for Parkland.
