Kings Announce Captains On Eve Of Regular Season

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings have announced their Captains as they get set to kick off their 58th season in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

Rylan Gage will lead the Kings into their season opener Friday as the club's Captain while Ethan Stewart, Aiden Murray and Ty Pratte will be the Alternate Captains.

Gage, from Hamiota, MB, is returning to Dauphin for his third season with the Kings and is looking forward to an exciting and long season.

Gage recently spoke to 730 CKDM's Darnell Duff for Story Time earlier this week.

Aiden Murray returns to Dauphin for his third season as well. Last year the Decker, MB product put up 11 points (1G, 10A) in 40 games on the back end for his team.

Moose Jaw Saskatchewan's Ty Pratte is heading into his third season with the Kings and will look to improve on a very solid year in 2024-25 where he tallied six goals and 27 assists for 33 points in 53 outings.

Ethan Stewart is the youngest of the Kings' three alternate captains. The Brandon, MB forward enters his second full season with the Kings after a strong year. As a rookie, the 2007 born Stewart picked up 10 goals and 23 assists in 54 games for the Dauphin.

Stewart, who wore #14 last season, will switch to #9 this year while Pratte (#19), Murray (#3) and Gage (#16) will all keep their same numbers from 2024-25.

The Kings kick off their regular season Friday night in Swan Valley against the Stampeders at 7:00pm. Of course you can watch that game on FloHockey or listen to the broadcast with Darnell Duff on 730 CKDM. Darnell's Pre Game Show gets going at 6:45pm.

Saturday Dauphin returns to Credit Union Place to open up their home ice schedule against the same Stampeders. The evening will feature a tailgate party starting at 5:00pm. Fans can come out, enjoy some entertainment, road hockey with some Kings, beer gardens and more! The Assiniboine College Home Opener goes down at 7:00pm with player introductions slated for roughly 6:45pm.
