Kings and Wolverines battle for the first time

It’s the matchup most Dauphin Kings and Waywayseecappo Wolverines fans have been waiting for. It’s a showdown between the best in the West and the second-best in the West and game one goes at Credit Union Place.

For the first time this season, Dauphin and Waywayseecappo will hook up and both teams are on a roll. The Wolverines are 10-2 and have won six straight games entering Friday’s contest while the Kings have won six of their last seven games.

Wayway enters the contest with a two-point lead over the Kings for first place in the West Division. Friday’s game is the first of four straight between the two teams. They will meet again on Saturday night in Waywayseecappo, next Friday in Waywayseecappo and then next Saturday, the four-game set wraps up in Dauphin.

The Wolverines have been extremely hard to slow down this season as they have scored 64 goals, the most in the league by nine over the Steinbach Pistons. Dauphin; meanwhile, has scored 48 goals but the team has been at their best in the defensive end. Led by the solid play of Carson Cherepak and Keaton Woolsey, Dauphin has allowed just 29 goals, the third-fewest in the league.
