Kings Add New Assistant Coach

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings are excited to announce the hiring of new assistant coach Patrick Trudeau.

Trudeau, who was born and raised in Ile-Des-Chenes, is very excited to join the Dauphin community for the upcoming hockey season.

For the last three seasons Trudeau coached the St. Malo Warriors in the Capital Region Junior Hockey League as Associate Coach. He was also the team's Assistant General Manager and helped the team to the league finals in all three years, winning the title the last two years.

Before that Trudeau spent a year at the U15 AAA level where he helped coach a number of players including three Kings prospects in Shea Rollason, Brady Bell, and Kingston Gunn.

Trudeau is no stranger to the the Kings organization. He has helped the club from a scouting perspective in the last few years.

"I’m very excited to make the jump from working as a Winnipeg area scout with head scout Darry Stevens to joining Doug on the bench in this upcoming year. It has been a goal of mine to make the jump to Jr A as a coach and the Dauphin Kings were always at the very top of that list" said Trudeau.

He's also looking forward to working with a coach like Doug Hedley, who has a number of years of experience.

"It’s an exciting time for me personally to join Doug’s staff. Coaching under someone with so much experience is a great learning opportunity for me personally and professionally. Doug has the reputation of running a pro-like program and I’m excited to jump in and continue the winning traditions Doug and the Kings have created" Trudeau added.

The Kings would like to welcome Patrick Trudeau to the organization and look forward to seeing him along with everybody else when the season gets rolling this September!
