Kings Add Facey To Staff

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings have added Chad Facey to their staff for the 2020-21 hockey season.

Facey joins the club as Assistant Coach and comes to the Kings following a stint with the Yellowhead Chiefs in the Manitoba AAA U18 Hockey League where he finished in the league's top three during the regular season three times. Facey also helped the U15 group to a provincial final appearance in 2016.

"The Dauphin Kings are a great organization and I'm looking forward to really getting started. I'm hoping to learn a lot from Doug going forward and I already have in the little time that I've been here so far" said Facey. "This year is especially an exciting year to be joining this hockey club. Expectations are very high and we have a great group of players coming to camp. I'm excited to be moving forward to the start of the season."

Kings Head Coach and General Manager Doug Hedley says he knows what to expect with Facey.

"We've gotten to know Chad over the last number of years. He's scouted for us and his work ethic is outstanding. He's really dependable and he's someone that wants to learn and get better" said Hedley. "We thought it was the perfect situation this year to bring him in and help us out. It's always good to stay in your province and try to get local talent not just from a player side but from a coaching side as well and we know Chad had some good success with the program in Yellowhead" he added.

The drive to the start of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League Season continues as the Kings and the rest of the league get set for camps and the regular season. The Kings will host their Prospect Camp, presented by Smitty's and Dauphin Super 8, next weekend (September 4th to 6th) at Credit Union Place. Be sure to stay tuned for load of updates in the coming days and weeks!
