Jakob Brook earns top spot this week

The Dauphin Kings earned a split over the weekend against Steinbach and Jakob Brook was a big reason why.

The 20-year-old from Roblin put together a solid weekend and he is the first star this week in the Parkland Source for Sports Three Stars of the Week.

1st Star – Jakob Brook

Off a beautiful pass from his brother early in the second period on Friday, Brook snapped a perfect shot past Dominik Wasik as he recorded his seventh goal as a King.

Then on Saturday, Brook fired a perfect pass in front to Matthew Gough and he did the rest. It was one of Brook’s best weekend’s since joining the club and he will be a tall task to stop the rest of the way.

2nd Star: Owen Wareham

He’s played more than 100 games with Dauphin, he’s the team’s captain and he had another rock solid weekend.

He scored a power play goal on Friday and then sealed the game with an empty-netter. The goal was scored as he was falling down inside his own zone, but that didn’t stop the 20-year-old from Rivers.

Wareham will look to lead the team into the playoffs as he enjoys a career-year with 32 points, 10 more than he had last year in the regular season last year.

3rd Star: Deepkaran Hans

He was using his speed, his size, and he was dominating his opponents. Hans was excellent over the weekend for Dauphin.

He found the back of the net once on Friday off a beautiful shot and he also had one assist. Then on Saturday, Hans had an assist on a goal that was scored by Alex Senf late in the second period to give Dauphin, at the time, a 2-1 lead.

Deepkaran then assisted on Wickham’s power play goal early in the third period.
