Important game for Dauphin

It’s starting to become nearly must win time for the Dauphin Kings.

Following a shootout loss against Niverville on Friday, Dauphin is running out of time if they want to advance to the Turnbull Cup Playoffs.

The good thing for Dauphin is, they are just a single point behind Waywayseecappo for the fourth and final playoff spot so the Kings can, with an win on Sunday, jump into a playoff spot.

Dauphin then goes toe to toe with the Wolverines on Tuesday night. Dauphin also did play quite well on Friday night, they will look to put another effort like that together on Sunday afternoon.

Dauphin opened up a 5-0 lead against Niverville the last time they played them in their home arena and they cruised the rest of the way.

Dauphin’s winless streak extended to six on Friday.

Players to Watch – Dauphin – Cole Sheffield

He was excellent on Friday. Providing Dauphin a chance to win after making 41 saves, Sheffield did everything he could.

Prior to Friday’s game, he was named the RBC Ambassador for Dauphin. With one of the best work ethics around, Cole continues to improve and he will do whatever it takes to continue developing.

2022-23 Stats: 14-9-2 / .918 save percentage, 2.70 goals-against average

Players to Watch – Niverville – Brendan Bottem

Just like Josh Paulhus — who leads the team in scoring — Bottem is a dynamic offensive threat. He scored Niverville’s first goal on Friday night and he now has 20 goals on the season.

A smooth skater, Bottem has the ability to create space for himself and when he is, he’s extremely tough to stop.

2022-23 Stats: 20 goals, 28 assists, one game-winning goal
