West Division clinching win

The Dauphin Kings caught fire in the third period on Friday night to win their 36th game of the season. The win has officially clinched first in the West for Dauphin.

Trailing 2-1 entering the third, Dauphin scored four goals in the final 20 minutes to pick up a 5-3 win over the Neepawa Titans.

Opening the scoring in the first was Colby Jaquet as he scored his 12th goal of the season nearly 13 minutes into the game and Dauphin had a 1-0 lead after 20.

In the second frame, Connor Brust and Parker Korman scored for Neepawa as the Titans took a 2-1 lead heading into the final frame.

However, the third wasn’t friendly to them. Nakodan Greyeyes scored 1:59 into the period to tie the game and just 38 seconds later, Kaden Bryant scored his 31st of the season to give Dauphin a 3-2 lead. Nick Braun made it 4-2 before Dallon Wilton brought Neepawa within a goal; however, it was too little too late for the Titans.

Luke Morris scored into an empty net with 19 seconds left as Dauphin picked up another two points.

The two teams will play again on Saturday at Credit Union Place.
