DAUPHIN, MB - Ahead of their 53rd MJHL season the Dauphin Kings have named their Captain and it's probably no surprise to most that fifth year forward Grady Hobbs will lead the club as its Captain.
As mentioned, Hobbs enters his fifth season with Dauphin. In 224 regular season games the Deloraine product has 71 goals and 77 assists. In 2019-20 he was the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's MVP and committed to play Division I hockey at RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology). Hobbs is also closing in on the Kings record for most games played.
"A lot of respect for Hobbsy and what he's done here. The attitude, the work ethic, the compete level. Every day at practice and every game he plays there's never a lack of effort. I think it's something that we want representing the organization and I couldn't think of a better person to wear the 'C' this year for the Dauphin Kings" says Kings Head Coach & General Manager Doug Hedley.
Hedley added the Kings will take the next couple weeks to determine the assistant captains but for now the club is looking forward to the Tim Hortons Home Opener on Friday.
Hear from Grady Hobbs below, he begins by talking about going into his fifth season as a Dauphin King...,
