Hedley moves to number one

History has been made in Niverville on Sunday afternoon.

Doug Hedley has become the winningest coach in Dauphin Kings history as the team jumped into the fourth and final playoff spot.

Pulling out a huge 7-4 win on Sunday against the Nighthawks, Hedley is now in a class of his own.

Entering the afternoon just a point behind Waywayseecappo for fourth in the West, Dauphin responded in a big way after giving up the games opening goal on Sunday. Falling down 1-0, Dauphin scored four straight to take a 4-1 lead after 20 minutes.

Jamie Valentino, Anthony Bax, Nolan Wickham, and Alex Senf — shorthanded — did the scoring for Dauphin in the first.

Ethan Williment scored for Dauphin in the second, but it was the Nighthawks that caught fire offensively as they scored three times as it was 5-4 Dauphin after 40.

In the end, the Kings came up clutch in the third as Blake Boudreau and Mathew Gough scored to seal the game. With the win, Dauphin is now 28-21-2-2 and they now hold sole possession of fourth in the MGEU West Division.

The team now travels to Waywayseecappo on Tuesday to play the Wolverines.
