Greening Named MJHL “Rookie of the Month”

Kings forward Matthew Greening of Dauphin has been named the MJHL’s Rookie of the Month for October.

In 13 games so far this season Greening has been a point a game player with 14 points including four goals. Greening has been a valuable versatile player for the Kings early in this season. He spent time playing defence early in the campaign when the King’s blueline was hounded by injuries.

“It’s always great to see a young player have success and be recognized early in the season.” stated Kings Assistant Coach Marc Berry. “Matty has worked hard and caught on to systems and has been rewarded for that. He’s a highly skilled and highly competitive player that both himself and the coaching staff have high expectations for. We’re very happy for him.”

The runners up are 16 year old forward Nick Henry of the Portage Terriers and 18 year old forward Mackenzie Graham of the Steinbach Pistons.

The Kings are back in action tomorrow night as they hit the road to meet the league leading Portage Terriers. Next Home action for the Kings is on Friday, November 6th as the Kings take on the Neepawa Natives. The game is sponsored by Countryfest
