Getting to know Fofonoff

Parker Fofonoff scored his biggest goal as a King earlier this season in what turned out to be a thrilling 2-1 shootout win against the Swan Valley Stampeders.

The 20-year-old went hard to the net and took a pass from Jayden Harris and tipped it past Kobe Grant somewhat late in the third period and Dauphin went on to earn two points in the game.

Parker has played 65 games with the Kings and now more than every, he’s motivated to win a championship as it’s his last year of eligibility. He has four points this year, two of which are goals.

“Everything is going super well so far, the boys are playing really good and everyone is excited about what we can do,” said Fofonoff. “We definitely have a championship team in the dressing room, it’s just about getting it done.”

Parker played a full season with the Melfort Mustangs to begin his junior career in the 2018-19 campaign, scoring seven times and adding eight assists.

Fofonoff is known as a penalty killing specialist and is relied heavily upon to lock down the other team’s top forwards when killing a penalty, something he has enjoyed. Parker will be back on the ice this weekend as Dauphin opens a home-and-home with the Winnipeg Blues on Friday night at the Rink Training Centre.
