The Virden Oil Capitals took a 3-0 lead over the Waywayseecappo Wolverines on Thursday night and the Dauphin Kings will look to do the same thing on Friday night.

Dauphin heads to Swan River to play the Stampeders in game three of their first-round series and the Kings are coming off back-to-back wins on home ice. It was a come from behind effort for Dauphin in game two as the Stampeders scored the first two goals of the game before Dauphin scored three straight.

Although Friday’s game isn’t a must-win for the Stampeders, the chances of coming back from a 3-0 deficit are very slim. Swan Valley went 12-11-0-4 in the regular season on home ice which was the fourth-most home wins in the West Division.

“They’re going to come out hard, we know that,” said Doug Hedley. “We’re going to have to be defensively aware and prepared for a battle.”

On the road; meanwhile, in the regular season, Dauphin went 19-7-1. Dauphin’s defence has dominated the series as five players have combined for nine points. Owen Wareham has goals in back-to-back games and his most recent goal was Tuesday’s game-winner. Friday’s game is the first of two straight in Swan River, game four will go Monday night.

You can hear Friday’s game on 730CKDM with Darnell Duff and you can also watch it on HockeyTV.
