Final Three Stars of 2021

The Dauphin Kings are heading in 2022 with a 23-7 record and Kaden Bryant is a big reason why.

The 20-year-old from Winnipeg has certainly found his groove over the past month and this past weekend was no different. Following a loss on Friday, Bryant scored once on Saturday as Dauphin skated past Selkirk, 7-3. And he also added three assists. He’s the final 1st Star of 2021 in the Parkland Souce for Sports Three Stars of the Week.

Heading into 2022, Bryant leads the team with his 37 points, 20 of which are goals.

Second Star:

There were some big expectations of Jayden Jubenvill coming into this year after a great career with the Parkland Rangers and he’s certainly living up to them.

The Gilbert Plains native has been relied upon in any situation this season and over the weekend, he found his scoring touch. After hammering home a power play goal on Friday, Jubenvill scored another marker on Saturday for a two-goal weekend and thanks to it, he’s this week’s Second Star.

Third Star:

While he hasn’t scored as many goals as the team’s former 59 in Grady Hobbs, Luke Morris is turning out to be a special player and his compete level is incredible. Hard work is clearly in his DNA and you can never forget that he scored the team’s first two goals of the season against Neepawa.

And since, he’s been a regular scorer for the club.

To cap off 2021, Morris tallied two markers on Saturday evening in the team’s win and he now has 13 goals this season. That’s the fourth most on the team and his four power play goals are tied for the second most. Luke is this week’s Third Star.

Many things went right for the team in the first half. A well-deserved break has now begun. Next up for the club is a game against the Winkler Flyers on Friday, January 7. Don’t forget to pick up your tickets for Comedy Night which takes place on Saturday, January 29!
