For the Kings, they hit the road. They'll be in Swan River to play the Swan Valley Stampeders with puck drop slated for 7:00pm.

After a very competitive Pre Season and Fall Camp the Kings have gotten down to a strong roster featuring players from the 2024-25 season sprinkled with new additions. Dauphin is expected to once again battle for a top spot in the MJHL's MGEU West Division.

The Assiniboine College Dauphin Kings Home Opener goes down tomorrow night at Credit Union Place. The Tailgate Party begins at 5:00pm and goes until puck drop at 7:00pm. Pre game ceremonies kick off just before the game, be in your seats by 6:45pm if you'd like to see it all!

50/50 Note:

Back in May the Dauphin Kings were extremely saddened to hear of the sudden passing of long time volunteer Ernie Rizok.

At our Home Opener, in honour of Ernie, the Kings will be donating half of our 50/50 proceeds to the Parkland Humane Society. And thanks to Fusion Credit Union the 50/50 pot is already well over $2000!

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

KINGS (0-0-0-0)

The Kings look to kick off 2025-26 with a win. The schedule is quite friendly to Dauphin to start the year. It sees them play two games this weekend and two games next weekend to close out September.

After that the team will get a full week off to reassess things before it gets busy in October with nine games four weeks.

Special Team numbers are not really reliable when it comes to the exhibition season but nonetheless the Dauphin Kings finished their four pre season games with a Power Play at 20% and a Penalty Kill at 62.5%.

Nicolas Zaharias led the Kings in the pre season with four points (3G, 1A). Behind him were Ash Mitchelmore (1G, 2A), Ethan Stewart (3A) and Brady Bell (3A) all with three points.

STAMPEDERS (0-0-0-0)

The Swan Valley Stampeders will try to climb up into a playoff spot in the 2025-26 season after finishing with a West Division worst record of 17-34-5-2. They were out of the playoff race early in the new year and will hope to give their fans more to cheer about this campaign.

Swan Valley's schedule to start the year is a bit of a dirty one. They begin things on home ice but then will close out the month of September with four straight on the road. They'll go to Dauphin, Selkirk, Winnipeg (Blues) and Waywayseecappo before returning home October 3rd to take on Virden.

On the Power Play in the exhibition season the Stampeders were at 13.3% while their Penalty Kill finished at 84.6%.

Ryder Boddez (4G, 1A) and Ben Groome (3G, 2A) led Swan Valley in points for the pre season with five. That Stampeders played six exhibition games compared to Dauphin's four.
