TONIGHT'S MATCHUP
KINGS (0-0-0-0)
The Kings look to kick off 2024-25 with a win. The schedule is quite friendly to Dauphin to start the year. It sees them play two games this weekend and two games next weekend to close out September.
Last season the Kings Power Play sat 21.8% which was tied for first in the West Division. On the Penalty Kill side Dauphin was third at 80.6%. In the Pre Season the Kings' Special Teams couldn't get going, but that's to be expected when you have players who are not used to playing with each other yet. On the man advantage Dauphin was last in the West at 13.6% while their penalty kill was third at 77.3%.
Devun Olfert (3G), Cayden Glover (2G, 1A) & Jack Bechard (2G, 1A) all led the Kings in scoring in exhibition, they all had three points.

OIL CAPITALS (0-0-0-0)
The Virden Oil Capitals come into their season opener with lots of fresh faces and will also look to compete for a top spot in the West Division.
The Oil Capitals will look to get off to a good start with a very favourable schedule to start the season. They play six of their first games on home ice. The lone exception of course is Dauphin's Home Opener tomorrow at Credit Union Place.
The Oil Capitals had a 26.7% Power Play in the Pre Season (3rd in West) and 76.9% Penalty Kill (4th).
Campbell Epp (2G, 2A) was the top scorer for Virden in the Pre Season with four points.
