Dauphin Kings 3 Stars Of The Week

Riese Gaber had a solid week and finished it with three assists in Dauphin’s win on Sunday.

Gaber quietly went about his business and was the first assist on all three of Keaton Leininger’s goals in Portage.

With all the points the Gilbert Plains forward now has nine goals and 13 assists on the season for 22 points. He’s fourth on the Kings in scoring.

Keaton Leininger was arguably one of Dauphin’s best players over the weekend.

Even though he didn’t score in the first two contests of the stretch he was, like most of his teammates, getting chances.

On Sunday Leininger finally broke through with three goals against the Portage Terriers. He had one in each period to help the Kings to the 3-1 decision.

The American forward continues to lead the Kings in scoring with 32 points (16G, 16A) in 40 contests.

Duncan McGovern (1-1) picked up his first Manitoba Junior Hockey League victory in goal for the Dauphin Kings on Sunday.

The 16 year old goaltender has played in two games for the Kings and his numbers are excellent. He has an excellent .949 save percentage and a 1.51 goals against average.

McGovern capped off his first win with an unbelievable save in the first period on Sunday against Portage. Check out the video below!

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings salvaged their weekend with an important 3-1 victory over the Portage Terriers on Sunday and will look forward to two games this week.
