Dauphin Kings 3 Stars Of The Week

DAUPHIN, MB - After two games to kick off a four game home stand the Dauphin Kings have named their first ‘Three Stars Of The Week’!

In case you missed it the Kings snagged a 3-2 victory over the Swan Valley Stampeders in their home opener on Friday. The contest took place in front of 2,157 fans. On Sunday Dauphin was doubled 8-4 by the Selkirk Steelers. 

This week the Kings have three games. On Wednesday they’ll entertain the Neepawa Natives at Credit Union Place. On Friday they’ll host the Winkler Flyers then hit the road Saturday for a tilt in Virden against the Oil Capitals. All start times this week are 7:30pm!

Local product Daniel Chartrand had a good weekend. In the two games the Kings played Chartrand had three assists and a goal. The 19 year old forward assisted on all three of Kirklan Lycar’s goals in Friday’s home opener, then picked up a goal Sunday evening when the Selkirk Steelers were in town. 

Chartrand is currently tied for first on the Kings in scoring with four points and is on a two game point streak. 

Graeme Hore played strong during the preseason and has carried that effort over into the regular season. He did not pick up any points in the Kings home opener on Friday, but he played well and continued that strong play into Sunday where he grabbed two goals for Dauphin. 

The Wawanesa, MB forward is tied for third on the Kings in scoring with his two goals. He’s tied with D-man Darren Gisti (2A) and forward Matty Greening (2A). 

The Kirklan Lycar opened the Kings regular season at home with three goals. Giving the fans something to talk about. Lycar notched a goal in the first and two in the second in the Kings 3-2 win over the Swan Valley Stampeders Friday night. 

As mentioned, Lycar is tied for the Kings lead in scoring with forward Daniel Chartrand. Lycar has three goals and an assist so far this year. Last season the Elma, MB forward led the Kings in scoring with 54 points. 

The Lycar is currently on a two game point streak.
