Matty Greening continued his strong play throughout last week. Even though he didn’t notch any points in the two games against the Steinbach Pistons he was one of Dauphin’s hardest working players.
Greening had two goals in the Kings’ 6-3 loss to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines on Tuesday. On Friday and Saturday he could of had a number of points but just couldn’t find the back of the net.
Right now Greening is second on the Kings in points with four goals and four assists.
The first Honourable Mention in the Dauphin Kings Three Stars of the Week this season goes to Brendan Arnold.
The Winnipeg forward had a successful weekend with Riese Gaber and Grady Hobbs, notching his first MJHL goal and adding two assists.
The former Winnipeg Wild is arguably one of the hardest working rookies on the Kings so far this season and you can see he’s finally starting to get rewarded for it. His three points this past weekend are his total so far this season.
Riese Gaber gave the fans in Steinbach something to talk about over the weekend. He and his line which includes Brendan Arnold and Grady Hobbs is unofficially being dubbed “The Paper Boys” line. They were all over the score sheet on both Friday and Saturday. Gaber led the way with one goal and two assists.
The Gilbert Plains forward also played well in Tuesday’s contest against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines, so well that he was credited with a goal when he wasn’t even on the ice.
So far this season Gaber is tied for fourth on the Kings in points with six.
