Dauphin Kings 3 Stars Of The Week

A fun week for local forward Daniel Chartrand who picked up two goals and an assist for Dauphin in their three games.

Over the weekend Chartrand had numerous chances to score but just couldn’t finish, but it’s still a good sign showing that he is finding open areas and getting quality opportunities.

Chartrand ended the week with a good fight late in the tilt in Selkirk.

Right now Chartrand is fifth on the Kings in scoring with five goals and eight assists for 13 points. He has four points (2G, 2A) in his last four games.

DAUPHIN, MB – It was a mixed bag of results for the Dauphin Kings last week as the club picked up three points in three games, a win, a loss and a shootout loss.

In case you missed it the Kings kicked off the week with a solid 6-3 victory over the visiting Waywayseecappo Wolverines. Following the win Dauphin dropped a 3-2 shootout decision to the Winnipeg Blues on Friday and a 5-2 regulation loss on Saturday to the Steelers in Selkirk.

Now the Kings get set for a VERY BUSY stretch in the next two weeks. Not only when it comes to games, but side events as well. Dauphin kicks off a six game home stand on Wednesday when they face off with the OCN Blizzard at Credit Union Place. Then on Friday it’s the NUTTERS & DAUPHIN VET CLINIC Teddy Bear Toss! On Saturday the Kings close out the week when the Winnipeg Blues come to town.

As mentioned, not only do the Kings have games this week but they’ll have a couple key special events as well. On Monday night they’ll head 45 minutes north to Winnipegosis for a special practice with the town’s midget hockey team. After the practice they’ll host a special ‘Skate wit the Kings’ at the Winnipegosis arena. It’ll give fans in Winnipegosis a chance to also buy Tractor Lotto tickets AND Kings Merchandise!

Be sure to follow the Kings all week on social media and right here on DauphinKings.com for updates!

A good week for the Kings forward Matty Greening. He notched one goal and two assists in three contests for his hometown team.

Greening also scored in the shootout against the Winnipeg Blues on Friday but it wasn’t enough to help Dauphin get the extra point at the MTS Iceplex.

As the Kings get set to kick off their six game home stand this week Greening is sixth on the team in scoring with five goals and seven assists for 12 points in 20 outings.

Ashton Clark continues to play well for Dauphin as the games go on.

He scored a great goal for the Kings Friday night (Below) when the club lost in a shootout to Winnipeg and seems to almost always make things happen every time he is on the ice.

Clark is the leading scorer on Dauphin right now with 11 goals and nine assists for 20 points. He’s two ahead of Keaton Leininger.
