A winner of two straight starts Matteo Esposito has upped his game over the last week.
He helped the Kings defeat the OCN Blizzard 3-1 on Wednesday night at Credit Union Place. Then on Saturday he stopped 39 of 42 shots plus all the shots he faced in the shootout to help Dauphin pull off a 4-3 victory over the Winnipeg Blues.
Last week Esposito’s numbers had him going 2-0 with a 1.89 goals against average and a .946 save percentage.
Since joining the Kings the American product’s record is 2-5 with a 3.35 goals against average and a .903 save percentage.
DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings took two of three games last week in the first half of their season six game home stand and have now gone 5-3-2 in their last 10 games.
On Wednesday last week the Kings were victorious in a 3-1 decision over the OCN Blizzard.
Friday saw Dauphin take a 2-1 advantage into the third period, but fall 4-2 to the Winkler Flyers.
On Saturday the Kings bounced back with a 4-3 shootout win over the Winnipeg Blues.
The results have moved Dauphin within three points of the Swan Valley Stampeders who currently occupy the final playoff spot in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
This week the Kings have three more games as the off ice activities amp up! First on Tuesday Dauphin welcomes the OCN Blizzard back to town for their second meeting in a week.
After that a busy weekend lies ahead for the Kings. They’ll face off with the Waywayseecappo Wolverines on Friday, RAIN CHECK NIGHT! Bring any unused tickets to get into the game, so bring all your friends!

Daniel Chartrand ended the week with two assists but had a key goal in the Kings’ 4-3 shootout victory over the Winnipeg Blues on Saturday.
Chartrand has played well as of late. In his last seven games he has points in five of them (2G, 4A).
Right now the Dauphin forward is slowly moving up the Kings scoring list. He’s tied with line mate Matthew Greening with 15 points on the season.
Riese Gaber flicked two goals and an assist last week for the Dauphin Kings and was arguably one of the team’s best players in all three of the contests they played.
The Kings will be without the Gilbert Plains forward for at least their next game against the OCN Blizzard as he has left to attend Team Canada West’s tryout camp in Leduc, Alberta.
Right now Gaber has nine goals and 10 assists for 19 points on the season. He’s tied for second on the team with Keaton Leininger and two back of Ashton Clark.
