Kaden Bryant is certainly making the most of his 20-year-old season with the Dauphin Kings and the former Forward of the Year in the Manitoba AAA U18 Hockey League is heating up.
In Friday’s front half of a home-and-home with the Waywayseecappo Wolverines, Bryant had one powerplay assist in Dauphin’s 6-3 win. It was Bryant’s 29th helper of the season.
Then on Saturday, Bryant took his game to the next level offensively as he netted his 29th and 30th goals of the season. One of which was a dandy short side up and over Liam Tereposky.
Entering this week, Bryant is the league-leader in goals scored and now playing alongside Nakodan Greyeyes and Nick Braun, it’s a line that is extremely tough to handle. Bryant is this week’s First Star in the Parkland Source for Sports Three Stars of the Week.
Second Star:
It was Nakodan Greyeyes’ biggest weekend since returning to Dauphin last month. The 20-year-old from Winnipeg scored 24 times and added 50 assists two years ago with Dauphin and he’s starting to show how dominant he can be with the stick on his puck.
On Friday, he scored once and added two assists. Then on Saturday, Greyeyes had a beautiful assist on a goal scored by Kaden Bryant and he also scored one goal himself.
Nakodan now has seven goals and nine assists in 14 games with Dauphin this season.
Third Star:
It’s an all first line stars of the week edition and completing the line is Nick Braun. From West Vancouver, British Columbia, Braun continues to produce at a great pace offensively in his rookie season in the MJHL.
He started off his weekend by scoring twice on Friday and 24 hours later, he had one assist in Dauphin’s 4-3 win. Braun also continues to be one of Dauphin’s top penalty killers and he also sees a good amount of time on the man advantage.
In 45 games this season, Braun has 21 goals to go along with 14 assists and he’s fifth in team scoring.
